While Google sites is a great option for creating and maintaining a website, there are a few limitations that you should be aware of:

1). Limited Customization: Google sites are only free because they are ad-supported. Because of this, they have very limited customizing options. There may come a time in the future that they begin charging for any kind of customization, which would make it more expensive to switch over to another platform if you decide to do so. Additionally, because they are free, there are design and functionality limitations that could prevent you from expanding your business in the future.

2). Can’t Integrate With Other Platforms: Google sites can only be integrated with selected google platforms. This is true even if you create a site on google sites.com and try to integrate it into your WordPress blog or online store through their apps with the ease of a one-click installation. You may want to connect with email marketing providers, eCommerce systems such as Shopify and Magento, and other third-party platforms for customer service tech support, or accounting. If you wish to do so using google sites, you will have to manually enter all the relevant information onto these other platforms. This is because there is no way to actually move your website data from google sites onto other platforms without manually copying and pasting information over one at a time onto each platform.

3). Limited Analytics: Google sites has very limited analytics compared with more popular platforms such as WordPress or Shopify which could cost less than $35 per month. This may contribute to information like visitor locations not being accurate or not being reported at all if it is something that would otherwise come up in analytics reports on other platforms such as WordPress or Shopify.
